HSE SPECIALIST AND COORDINATOR
Ruud is also currently engaged at Van Oord as an HSE coordinator for the Gemini offshore wind farm, one of the largest wind farms in the world. The Gemini windpark is located 85 kilometres offshore in the north sea making the project very challenging.
In this project, Ruud manages the HSE-related issues during the construction of this impressive wind farm. He is personally responsible for the HSE during the construction and placement for both the offshore high voltage station (OHVS) and the high voltage station on land (LHVS). In addition, Ruud is involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of risk identification for the export cable in shallow water and in the implementation of dredging work. During the offshore period Ruud is responsible for all HSE related issues that arise at sea.
Ruud has also acted as chairman during HAZID sessions with clients and contractors. He focuses on incident analysis and conducts internal and external HSE audits.
